Hunger Action Month 2025 calendar

Throughout history, people in America have united to drive change. This September, during Hunger Action Month, the Food Bank of Delaware is calling on all Delawareans to come together once again to end hunger in our State.

We know that when we all come together to raise awareness about an issue, we are capable to doing amazing things.  Food insecurity in America has reached its highest rate in over a decade, reaching over 47 million people facing hunger, including 14 million children.  In Delaware, currently 1 in 8 Delawareans is experiencing food insecurity, including 1 in 6 Delaware children.  In the last fiscal year, the Food Bank of Delaware distributed more food than any year in our history – over 17.2 million pounds (the equivalent of over 20.6 million meals).

With the largest cuts to SNAP and Medicaid in history now signed into law, food and health care will soon be further out of reach for millions of people—including children. Hunger in America is a crisis—and together, we can meet this moment.

Delawareans can get involved by visiting https://www.fbd.org/hunger-action-month/ and participating in our “30 Ways in 30 Days” calendar project (attached).
